About

Vision

To have every social ill amplified for people to take action.

Mission

To identify change leaders from the margins of society and equip them to bring out unheard ideas that sustainably
accelerate social change.

Who We Are

SpiceTalks is a catalytic accelerator for intense social change where we identify change leaders from our communities who are privy to social ills and are passionate about accelerating social change. On this platform, the leaders creatively share their personal stories that amplify social ills and exceptionally spicy ideas from the backyard of society. It is a platform by Spice Without Borders, a registered international not for profit organization in Kenya under section 10 of the Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Act.

This year marks the 2nd annual SpiceTalks event hosted by the ActionAid Global Platform, Nairobi. The event started as a small conference in 2016 with 50 people attending at Pawa254, Mageuzi Theatre and is growing as a catalytic accelerator for intense social change.

The annual SpiceTalks Event is devoted to transforming the society by the creative and critical voice of the people. It invites social change accelerators who speak for about 10 minutes, which we then make available, free on our social stream platforms. These are conversations that disrupt and chart a different course bringing on stage diverse talented individuals who play a role in promoting a more tolerant and just society that serves the many, not just the few.

All SpiceTalks speakers and organizers are volunteers, committed to nurturing and bringing out creative and spicy ideas from the backyard of society to the fore with a hope that it will make communities and the world a better and more inclusive place for all.

Through our network partnership with SIMA Awards, USA, we set out to propel and elevate social-impact film screening that inspires crucial perspectives and demonstrates unique potential to enlighten, transform, and positively impact our contemporary world. We contribute to the advancement of global awareness, social justice, human rights, and humanitarian development by catalyzing creative works of visual storytelling that inspire activism, compassion and social transformation.
